Delete Your Account

1. How to delete your account
Inside the app: open Settings, tap "Delete my account" at the bottom of the page, then confirm. The deletion runs immediately and cannot be undone.
If the app is not on your phone: email support@netlaga.app with the subject "Delete my account" and the mobile number the account is registered with, including the country code. A Netlaga account has no email and no password, so we will ask you to confirm the request from that number before anything is deleted; without that step anyone who knew your number could close your account. We reply within 7 days and carry out the deletion within 30 days of confirmation.
2. What is deleted
- Your account: your mobile number, name, photo and language, and your number is freed to register again.
- Your membership of every group and gathering, and your settings in them. If you were a group's admin the role passes to its longest-standing member; if you were its last member the group is deleted with everything in it.
- Invitations addressed to you, and your device's push token.
- Your photo in storage.
- All your places in "My places".
3. What remains, and why
Some content belongs to other people together with you, so it is not deleted automatically:
- Your messages, photos and voice notes in group chats remain visible to the members, attributed to "Former member" with no name, photo or number. Before deleting the account you can delete any message yourself, which removes it with its files.
- Your expenses and transfers in the kitty stay in the ledger because the other members' balances are computed from them.
- Gatherings, polls and items you created remain for the group's members.
- A place you sent into a group chat stays there as a location message, like the rest of your messages.
- Crash reports and usage events held by Google carry neither your name nor your number, and expire under Firebase's retention periods.
If you want your part of this content deleted as well, say so in your email; we delete what we can without erasing others' conversations or upsetting their balances.
