Child Safety Standards

1. Our position
Netlaga is an app for family and friends' gatherings. Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) is absolutely prohibited in it in every form, and so is child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This covers creating, uploading, sending, requesting or linking to such material; depicting a minor sexually in text, image or audio; grooming, sextortion or any attempt to contact a minor for a sexual purpose; and trafficking of minors. There is no context in which any of this is tolerated, and an account involved in it is closed without warning.
2. Children in the app
The Terms of Use require account holders to be at least 13, and anyone under 18 to use the app with a guardian's knowledge and consent. Registration requires a mobile number. When we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13 we close it and delete its data. Nobody joins a group or gathering except by accepting an invitation, and there is no people search and no chat with strangers.
3. How to report
Anyone, whether a user of the app or not, can report a risk to a child:
- Inside the app: long-press the message and choose "Report message", or go to Settings, "Contact us", and choose "Complaint".
- By email: faisal@netlaga.app with the subject "Child safety". Name the group or gathering where you saw it, and the mobile number or displayed name of the account concerned if you know them.
Do not send or attach the material itself. Point us to where it is and we retrieve it from our systems.
4. How we respond
CSAE reports have the highest priority and are reviewed ahead of everything else. We aim for an initial assessment within 24 hours of receiving a report.
- We remove the reported content and suspend the account or accounts concerned while the review completes.
- An account found to be involved is deleted permanently, and we take what steps we can to prevent its holder from registering again.
- We preserve the necessary evidence, the content, the account and the related records, for reporting the incident, and do not destroy it merely because the account was closed.
5. Reporting to the authorities
We comply with the child-protection laws that apply to us and report the cases of child abuse or abuse material that come to our attention to the competent authorities. Netlaga is operated from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, so reports go to the competent national authority, and we cooperate with the legal requests that follow. Where an incident falls under another country's jurisdiction we report to its competent authority or to the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as the case requires.
6. Point of contact
Our designated point of contact for child safety, including enquiries from regulators, app stores and law enforcement, is faisal@netlaga.app.
